There’s something about this time of year that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. As the weather starts to turn colder, leaves change and fall and snow becomes a regular in the forecast… I like to curl under a blanket by the fire and read a good book or watch a movie with the family. With this season also comes slow cooked soups and stews and the hearty foods like meatloaf and mashed potatoes.
I have found yet another way to make this season memorable. (I think it is very important to make special memories and traditions that your children will never forget). Along with the homemade marshmallows I posted not to long ago, apple cider cups are easy to make and of course, a fun way to drink your apple cider.
Be forewarned this video tip is also a tip on how not to use a knife. I would recommend a smaller one that what I was using, don’t know what I was thinking! Also, if you are a food blogger, be sure to sign up for the Not-So-Secret Ingredient Challenges to have some fun, get free food, compensation, and possible cash prizes.
** I believe the video is now fixed. For some reason, an effect in Windows Movie Maker made it stop at :30. I had to take all effects off… so this video is straight out of the camera. Nothing pretty!

Wow, I love it! I definitely want to make this.. but I can’t seem to get the video to play for me
Great pictures by the way. How do you do your photos? camera?
Thanks!!
Hmm… it works for me! If it doesn’t work for anyone else please let me know!
Looks fun! The video freezes & the volume goes out around 44 seconds for me.
I think that is such an adorable idea. I will have to try these for Halloween after we take the kids out trick or treating.
What a great idea! It seems like a simple way to make simple cider more festive and fun. Thanks for the tip!
THE VIDEO CAME THROUGH FINE FOR ME. I LOVE THE IDEA AND AM ANXIOUS TO TRY IT.
That’s an adorable idea!
This is so fun. I would have never thought of this, but I will defiantly be doing this for my children’s Pumpkin parties with their apple juice. Do you think it might be easier to use a scoop instead of a spoon?
Since the apple is harder than most fruit you would use a scoop on, I thought it was easier to use a spoon because you could put more pressure on it and it was flat. You could try it!
THESE ARE SO CUTE!! I will have to try these out this fall for sure! I bet the apple tastes amazing after having that cider in it too!
Adorable idea! I’ll have to try it with the kiddos.
Emily,
I love it! Love the way you mounted the camera for a great over head shot of what you were doing with your hands. All that was missing your lovely face! Darling idea. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic idea and beautiful photo.
